Project target

Construction of sports equipment for seniors as professional orientation.
The young participants executed all design steps from planning to completion. The task enabled them to experience all steps and to explore their likings and abilities.
Also contact between the youth and senior facilities could be established, so that further age appropriate equipment could be built.

Project steps

To win collaborators, the project was introduced to several senior and youth facilities. After the workgroups were found, sports equipment - a miniature golf-play and skittles - was selected and designed.
Easy workmanship was important for the execution, so that unskilled youths could participate, as well as a solid construction requiring less maintenance. The construction works took place at the workshop of Kids & Co. There was a continuous exchange between both project teams to fulfil the wishes and need of the elderly.
Finally, after a joint sports lesson, the youths handed over the sports equipment to the seniors
