The Nature Protection Centre Schleipfuhl in Berlin-Hellersdorf is a facility of the development association Nature Protection Centre Malchow e.V. It is focussed on free youth work offering leisure time activities. To create a further offering for children and youths, a clay oven has been built.
The oven consists of three parts, a socket, the vault and a wooden roof. The socket is built on a subbase made from gravel and concrete. The vault comprises several layers and was built over a sand form. The oven is operated with a damper at its front, the fume outlet is provided by a stove pipe with a damper flap at its back.
The roof made from robinia wood serves as weather protection. To increase the roofing’s lifetime it was covered with roofing paper.
